The Scholarships Office (SCO) – an affiliate of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs (MoPA) – organised an Orientation Meeting for distinguished Grade 12 Emirati students. The meeting was attended by 680 students from both government and private schools in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to include the cities of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain and the Emirate’s Al Dhafra region, as well as students of the Institute of Applied Technology (IAT).
This step comes as part of the SCO's efforts to familiarise students with the requirements, application procedures and benefits of ‘HH the President’s Distinguished Student Scholarship Programme’, the ‘Local Scholarships Programme’, the ‘Overseas Scholarships Programme’ and the ‘Meteorology Scholarship Programme’. The Orientation Meeting also serves to educate the students about the requirements and steps involved in applying to leading international universities within the UAE and abroad, as well as about the importance of early preparation for study in those universities.
The Orientation Meeting was attended by Juma Al Rumaithi, Director of the Scholarships Office, and a number of the SCO's board members, in addition to representatives from the Local and Overseas Scholarships Departments, teaching staff of Abu Dhabi schools, parents and students.
